One of the real advantages of using MP3s or downloads instead of CDs is the use of playlists. This is simply a list of tracks to use in a particular service or event. When it comes to the service the device you are using presents only the tracks you need, in the right order.
Playlists can be set up whether you are playing the music from a computer, a phone, and iPad/tablet or an iPod. They are simple to set up and there's no reason not to have one for each service, removing any need to search for the relevant tracks.
In the video below we set up a short playlist, both by selecting from a particular album and by searching. You can search on hymn name, tune name, index number, composer for voluntaries and A&M number for the Ultimate Set.
The video shows a playlist being set up for an iPad. The approach is identical on an iPhone or iPod. It will be a little different with another phone, tablet or computer - but the essence is the same.
