Richard Denny
Motivate
to win.

Don't be put off by the relative age of
this book, the content hasn't dated. Denny has a very charismatic approach
to motivation, and puts the message across well. It's a personal approach,
so some may not like it - but
it's worth a look. New 8

Patrick Forsyth
30
Minutes to Motivate your Staff.

Part of a pocket book series putting
across the basics of the subject - handy if you'd like a bit more than our
introductory chapters can give, but haven't time for a Denny or an Allan
(see above). New 8

David Freemantle
The Stimulus Factor.

Freemantle, author of Superboss, argues that it's is
impossible to motivate anyone - they can only motivate themselves. But
what you can do is to provide the stimuli that will encourage them into
the right types of motivation. You can argue it's all a matter of
semantics, but there does seem to be a fresh, exciting idea about
motivation here from this one-time airline director.

Robert Heller
Motivating
People

A handy pocket guide to motivation in the
heavily illustrated Dorling Kindersley style. Some of the approaches are a
trifle old-fashioned, but overall a good, very portable introduction to
the subject. New

Ricardo Semler
Maverick!

Not a conventional book on motivation, but a wonderful study from
life of the real thing. The stunning story of how a Brazilean businessman took an ordinary engineering
company and turned it into something special is one of the most exciting and uplifting
business books every written. Semler ignores every rule in the book and totally transforms
the company into a place where everyone wants to work. A must-read. Totally unimaginable
when the book was written in 1993, it's now a model for every company. New
